Like so many other hobbyist and enthusiasts I also started of with one of the large manufacturers thinking that their ”complete” offer and financial muscle will be of benefit.
With the E-410 I made the expensive change leaving a bunch of lenses behind. Lucky I have a son working semi professional with photography and he was happy to take over the lenses.
I was in search of a good camera with unique picture quality. I was very happy with the 350D from Canon and it was my first DSLR. The Canon SLR cameras are a little “flat” for my liking and I was searching for something with expression. The E410 was a pleasant entry into the Olympus world. I then read about the excellence of the E330 and were lucky to get one at a good price secondhand, worked with that for a while and sold it again. The E520 offered IS, something I desperately wanted because I only use one hand only when photographing.
I also got hold of a E400 and special about the E400 is the Kodak CCD it uses. The E400 had a very short shelve live and I believe it was a camera never meant for the market. It was clearly aimed at the SLR camera/photoraphy enthusiast. Timing was wrong because the market was moving towards compact type Live View type SLR cameras. Later I will tell you more about the unique E400.
I am happy to report that the E-520 will enjoy a lot of good time on this site and I am looking forward discovering the E-520 on this site with you.
